How do you control stress, anxiety and worry in the midst of chaos alright guys, welcome back, we're going to talk about a topic today that I think every one of us can relate to. And this is actually going to be a series where we're going to, over the course of the next few videos talk about how I personally have learned to control stress, anxiety, and, and worry in my own life. And why is this important to me personally well, because I have experienced probably like a bunch of you guys, tons of stress and anxiety in my life, especially as a young man and SEAL training, when we were conducting training evolutions and buds that were really, really high stress and, and if you screwed up, there were high consequences. That's where I really had to learn, hey, we've got to implement some tools to be able to control these feelings, these emotions that we're having, so that we can actually perform. Alright, so today, in this video, we are going to talk about how I set myself up for the day. All right, essentially, what does my morning routine look like? And guys, look, I know, man, there's so much crap out there about morning routine. What I want to recognize right off the bat is a lot of the stuff that we hear about in terms of morning routine is stuff that sounds good. All right. Most people are want, they want to tell you what sounds good, right? I just want to simply take this time to tell you what I do. And which is really, really simple.
It doesn't necessarily sound good. It's just a really simple process that I go through every morning that sets me up. Why is your morning routine, even important? When we talk about? Well, we're trying to to talk about how to control stress and worry, why is your morning routine important? I'll tell you why it's important for me. Because every day when I wake up, my mind immediately jumps forward. It jumps way ahead in the day, and it wants to think about whatever, whatever I'm doing that day, whatever the biggest thing is, right? So as soon as I wake up my mind wants to immediately start worrying about or being anxious about what's coming that day. For me, man, it may be maybe I have to teach a class, maybe, maybe I'm going on a podcast, being a guest somewhere telling my story, whatever it may be for you. I mean, it can be work related stuff. You got to reel that in, man, you've got to reel that in, you've got to start the day, the right way, and not overextend yourself mentally, and let that anxiety take over from the time you wake up, right. So that's what the morning routine does for me. It's when my eyes open, and my mind wants to think about what's coming. The morning routine says no, hold on just a minute back up, we're gonna set ourselves up,we're gonna do something that's enjoyable. That's going to that's going to really put us in a good place right off the bat. Okay, so it's a, it's almost a reset from where your mind wants to go. And like I say, it's so freakin simple. And it needs to be my morning routine, I realized it needs to be something that I can replicate anywhere I am.
